Over the last few years, a few friends and I have travelled the length and breadth of France to indulge our passion for hiking in the mountains. We've explored the Vosges and the Jura, discovered the Massif Central, spent some magical moments on the Alpine and Pyrenean trails... What wonderful memories! And then, this year, we stopped off in Savignac les Ormeaux, at the Marmotte campsite.<\/p>\n

The icing on the cake, if I can use the expression, is the spa d'Ax-les-thermes<\/a> is just a few minutes' drive from the campsite. So to be able to combine sporting activities and relaxation on the same site is a godsend that we couldn't pass up. We didn't know anything about this 4-star campsite, so it was a pleasant surprise.<\/p>\n

This human-sized campsite has a unique profile. First of all, it's open all year round, to the delight of walkers and skiers alike. It's worth mentioning this because it's quite rare in the area. Secondly, it is clearly positioned in a niche market, that of small top-of-the-range campsites. Its pool area is like a gentle bubble where we loved relaxing after our days out hiking. What can I say about the restaurant? Simple, generous cuisine, with some typical Ari\u00e8ge dishes that we really enjoyed.<\/p>\n
